Shannon Town U11 Orange were away to Corofin tonight in the Cup. Shannon got to grips with the conditions and the opposition early doors on this occasion enjoying good spells of position in the first half which was made possible from their pressing. Alex Russell and Senan O Neill started strongly at the back dribbling out of some tight situations. Jonah and Charlie Hannon offered good runs down the flanks but equally tracked back to scupper some fine attacking play from Corofin. Both Connor Donovan and Cole O Sullivan made some important stops between the sticks as Corofin came more into it. Finn Cassidys reading of the game and timing is something to really admire and he really stepped up again tonight. The interplay between the midfielders and the attack was what one this game however. There was some great give and go. Jack Nolan worked tirelessly along with Billy Moroney creating chance after chance. Jordan and Dylan Keane linked up time and again for some great goals and both get to share the MOTM award (3 assists from Jordan and 3 goals from the hattrick hero Dylan). Jordans work rate on and off the ball was 1st class all evening. Goal of the night goes to towns captain for the night Senan O' Neill with Towns fourth..a sweetly taken volley into the top bin with the assist from Jack Nolan. A great first win for this team which is growing in confidence, skill and knowledge with each outing. Thanks to Corofin for a good match and the parents for all their support. Well done to Coach Stephen and his assistant Callen "Pep" O Neill.
