Our U 11 (white) made the short journey to Riverside to play local rivals Shannon Hibs.
In really hot conditions both teams played excellent football and given the intensity of the heat it was a credit to both team for the effort in what was a cracking game .
In the early exchanges we were dominant but wasted chance after chance and just couldn't make the breakthrough against a stubborn hibs defence .
Against the run of play if was the home side who took the team with a superb individual goal from Leon Kelly who finished past Mikey Behan in the shannon town goal .
The second half, we were far better and said we needed to be more clinical in front of goal and we certainly were with the man on form Callum Buckley equalised just after the resumption of play after the break. The defence and midfield were on top and a massive shout out to Conor Mclaughlin who covered every blade of grass for us tonight with a man of the match performance .
With time ticking down Callum Buckley scored with a fantastic strike from a long range free.
Well done lads and thanks to Hibs for a cracking game.
