Congrats to the U13A team on winning their League Cup Final and the double on Saturday against a defiant Ennis Town team.
Lets be honest they certainly went the hard way about it as Ennis Town took the game to them in the first half and got their reward. Shannon Town's defended very well and kept it at 1-0 at the break.
Second half began much the same as the first with Ennis Town again been rewarded with their second goal and taking a 2-0 nil lead.
Scott Kirland struck the ball from about 25 yards out and with Ennis Town keeper caught off his line sailed into the net. Roars and shouts of encouragment echoed all around the County Ground.
Ennis Town kicked off and Shannon pounced on them certainly on a mission and winning back the ball. This time Fionn McInerney hits a long range shot, again keeper off his line and hits the back of the net 2-2.
Literally next minute Cody Waller takes a shot while people are still celebrating the last goal. He too finds the back of the net and in the space of 3 minutes Shannon Town have come from 2-0 down to take the lead. As someone said it is like Istanbul all over again!!
Finally few minutes left Ennis Town are throwing everything at it but again Shannon's defence are strong and some great saves made by Dylan in goals keep them at bay and finally the ref blows it up.
Well done to all the players great attitude and not give up been 2-0 nil down and of course to the managers Colm Ryan, Paddy Keely and Steo.
Shannon Town Goalscorers: Scott Kirkland, Fionn McInerney & Cody Waller.
Man of the Match Award, voted by the referees on the day, went to Fionn McInerney
