Shannon Town U16's away fixture to Lifford took place tonight in Cassidy Park where they came up against a completely different team from their 4-1 victory in Shannon recently. While they never really were troubled defensively, they made missed chance after chance up front.

First half finished up 0-0.

Second half continued much like the first half, while Shannon dominated possession the attempts at goal started to dry up. Lifford were well orgainised and proving difficult to break down.

It looked like it was heading for a 0-0 draw and 12 mins left on the clock Ger Mullane got the flick on the ball at the edge of Liffords box to put Lenon Keogh through, who volleyed well past the out rushing keeper to seal a 1-0 for Shannon Town.

A huge win as Shannon push on in their pursuit of the Division 2 title, they remain in 2nd place on 15 points and 2 points behind Tulla Utd. Shannon have still 3 more games to play over Tulla. Next up St. Pats away where Shannon won 3-2 at home so it could be a close one again.
