The B team were back in clare cup action Wednesday night in a late change of venue from Corrib Drive to Sixmilebridge and they were really up for this one. From the first whistle the away side battled hard and gave nothing easy to the home side winning lots of 50/50 battles and aerial duals. With the Bridge defence struggling to cope with the pressure, Eoghan Gough chased a ball down taking it off the bridge defender he found Kenneth Buckley in space who in turn looped a delightful ball over the Bridge keeper and last defender to see the ball hit the back of the net to make it 1-0. 5 minutes before the break the away side nearly made it 2-0 when Adrian Carew played a defence splitting pass to Luke Cahill only to see the Bridge defender make a last ditch tackle and see the strike fly over the bar.

The first 25 minutes of the 2nd half started with the Bridge A men seeing more of the ball trying to take control pushing for that equaliser and it did come against the run of play possibly when a Bridge center half found himself unmarked in the box for a corner kick and see him fire a header past the Town Keeper to make it 1-1. Thinking that this would spur on the Bridge A men having equalised it did the opposite, the Town men found their way again and really pushed hard to score again, and nearly did so when Karl Scott whipped an Inch perfect cross to the back post only to see an on rushing Luke Cahill slide in and send his effort into the side net. With 10 minutes to go the away side winning a corner for themselves saw Eoghan Maxwell whip a cross into the 6 yard box and up popped Karl Scott glancing his header past the near post and keeper to see the net rattle again 2-1 to the Town. The last 8 or 9 minutes saw the Town defence hold off an onslaught of crosses into the Town box and blocked shots. A serious shift put in by all 15 Town men and a performance they can be really proud of.

Starting 11: Gary Cusack, Takudzwa Nyakujara, Fergal McCarthy, Alan Mcinerney, Bryan O Donaghue, Eoghan Gough, Karl Scott, Evan Glynn, Luke Cahill, Adrian Carew, Kenneth Buckley.

MOTM: Fergal McCarthy
