The B team at home Wednesday night picked up 3 points against a fighting Avenue B team, starting very slowly and lack lustre in this game the home side had a tough start to the game miss placing easy passes and giving the Ennis side alot of possession and chances to get at the Town back 4. With 20 minutes gone and the home side forced to make 2 early changes, Scott Lynch and Ryan Hodge picking up unfortunate injuries made way for Cian Johnson and Adrian Carew. With the home side eventually settling into the game and Eoin Collins and Cian Johnson making things happen instantly. 35 minutes gone a brilliant passage of play developed between Eoin Collins and Eoghan Gough saw him break free past the left back and square to the on rushing Adrian Carew to fire home from close range. 1-0 at half time.
Avenue hit back instantly after the break when the Avenue right back bundled home a corner kick from close range 1-1. The home side pushed again for that 2nd goal and it did arrive after 60 minutes when Adrian Carew picked up a loose ball just outside the Avenue Box he fired his effort at goal with the Avenue keeper seeing the ball slip through his gloves and hit the net to make it 2-1. 5 minutes later Avenue hit back again when a mix up at the back saw the Avenue attacker head past Gary Cusack from close range to make it 2-2. Eoin Collins and Cian Johnson winning all the midfield battles got the Town attackers further up the field and with that saw Luke Cahill play a through ball to Adrian Carew he ran at the full back of Avenue only to cut back on the inside of the 18 yard box and square to on rushing Karl Scott who blasted past the keeper to make it 3-2 in the end. A disappointing performance from the Town men but take the 3 points and move on. A special mention to youths player Cian Johnson on an excellent 70 minutes in the middle of the park.
