Fern Celtic were tough to break down in a heavy pitch with heavy bursts of rain - a very hard fought 2-0 win. A lovely left footed strike by Ciara Quirke after 20minutes finally put the Shannon Town girls in front and not before Rhiann Murphy was called into action to make some very important saves. After several shots rebounded off the post and crossbar from Ciara Quirke & Kate Lee the second goal eventually came from Aoibheann Adelu’s who swept a low shot into the bottom left hand corner of the net. - after the second goal came 10minutes into the second half it made it easier to roll on all our substitutes as we were growing in confidence we would secure the result- All 16 girls got game time. Solid performances from so many girls but it was encouraging to see Brianna McGrath, Sadhbh Cunningham & Maria Alford do really well off the bench - ROLL ON the Shield Final 💪👏
