Bridge United 0

After Shannon Town started the previous 3 games very slow out of the blocks they needed to start this one very fast if they were not to get themselves into a right battle. And they did so with 10 mins gone the Town front 3 pressing very well Jamie Hodge picked up a loose pass from the Bridge center half who found Jamie O Shea at the edge of the box for him to rifle home a left footed effort into the roof of the net, 1-0. With the game eventually opening up the Town found themselves 2-0 up with a delightful curled shot from the edge of the box into the bottom corner from Eoghan Maxwell to make it 2-0. The home side found themselves 3-0 up on the stroke of 35 minutes when Jamie Hodge burst past 2 defenders and blasted past the keeper into the far corner. Shannon Town could have made it 4 0r 5 just before half time but for the Bridge keeper to pull off some excellent saves. 3-0 at half time.

The second half started much the same as the first with the home side smelling blood they went on the hunt for more goals, the Bridge found themselves struggling to get out of their own half and take any control of their possession. The home side making 4 changes with 30 minutes to go finally got the ball rolling again and with a good passing spell down the right side with Jamie Hodge passing to Adrian Carew who skipped inside the center half, calmly slotting it past the keeper to make it 4-0. With the game drifting into the 70 minute Shannon Town continued to put pressure on the now tired Bridge back line and made it 5-0 when Gary Cusack picked up with ball just inside the halfway line he cut inside the Bridge full back and curled a beautiful effort into the top corner. With 80 minutes gone the home side scored again this time from a corner when Eoghan Gough peeled off to the back post and fired home a half volley to make it 6-0. The Town were not finished yet, with 2 minutes to go a ball broke to Gary Cusack on the right hand side of the pitch this time he burst past the sliding midfielder and outpaced the defender for him to square a lovely pass onto the on rushing in form Eoin Collins to squeeze his effort past the Bridge keeper. A fantastic 7-0 with 7 different scorers much pleasing to the Town management.

This Sunday the 26th see's a break in the League with the B Team welcoming Breska Rovers in the FAI at Corrib Drive for a 2pm kick off.
