U12’s Girls First round of the cup β€œHigh Drama in the first round of the U12 Girls cup in Kilmihil against St. Pats. Despite a dominant first half performance the girls could not unlock Kilmihil defence.

The second half was another great display from the Shannon girls and after throwing all but the kitchen sink at the Kilmihil defence the tireless efforts of Ciara Quirke ⚽️ who impressed throughout was finally rewarded with a goal. 1-0. Quite against the run of play St. Pats levelled with 10minutes to play on a rare counter attack and held out to force extra time. 1-1. In fading light another 10minutes a half required. Deadlocked after the first period of extra time, Shannon Town continued to create chances but could not manage another goal. Eventually after relentless team work a clever ball over the top from Laura Connolly who was immense throughout found Kate Lee ⚽️ who broke the deadlock with a great finish 2-1. Straight from the St. Pats restart Kate Lee ⚽️ broke a tackle to score her second goal of the game within a matter of minutes. 3-1. Amy McGee & Courtney Behan put in great performances πŸ‘πŸ‘and continue to improve with each passing game. 17 girls turned up to tonight’s cup match from Shannon Town and all eventually got game time over the course of a very demanding 80minutes of football. The team work and fighting spirit of all these young girls is hugely impressiveπŸ’ͺπŸ‘πŸ‘
