A fantastic achievement for this group of players as Shannon Town Ladies Secure the League Title with 2 games to play!!

Shannon Town played away Tuesday night knowing a victory would make it impossible to be caught, after a shaky opening 20 minutes the away side finally settled to the task at hand and to be honest dominated for most of the remainder of the game. The opening goal came after 30 minutes with Megan O Connor scoring a great goal to open up our account to make it 1-0 and put all the pressure on the Home side. Defensively solid and Caoimhe Nolan having a solid game in Goal the away side looked really confident as the half came to a close.

As the 2nd half started Shannon Town began to completely over power the home side with the midfield on top and with chances been created up front it looked as though it would only be a matter of time before Shannon Town got the 2nd and Amanda Madden Duly obliged with a fine finish to make it 2-0, now the game pretty much over but with the ladies still working hard they managed to score a third goal, again Amanda Madden forcing the ball over the line, ''game set and league'' the Ladies are now 7 points Clear with 2 games to go making it mathematically impossible to be caught.

It's fair to say that this Group are a talented Squad and Credit goes to there efforts and attitude all season, unbeaten so far and also looking forward to not one but ''TWO'' Cup Semi finals in the coming Weeks and hopefully they can keep the trophies coming.

Ray the manager of the ladies team commented after the game: ''It's been a privilege to have been part of this Historical Night for the Squad led by Leona Bridges who played her role to perfection''.
